Gold Coast Stormwater Relining Program

Abergeldie has a long-term collaborative relationship Gold Coast City Council extending over 6 years to deliver the annual Stormwater Relining Program. Scope includes repairing and renewing the city’s stormwater pipe infrastructure using cost-effective methods to extend the service life of the city’s infrastructure assets whilst also improving the city’s flood resilience.

Over 90% of the works were affected by the tide heights of the Gold Coast seaway, different methods to isolate the outlet pipes were trialled and ultimately successfully completed. Adjustments to the lining designs were also required as some of the works were completed underwater.

The cornerstone solution for the City of Gold Coast’s rehabilitation program has been Abergeldie’s Enviroliner CIPP. The end result is essentially a new pipe-within-a-pipe that extends the life and serviceability of the asset for at least several decades.
